to all National/International NGOs

We appreciate all National and International NGO's working for the various causes of disabled people (now globally recognized as PWDs - Persons With Disabilities). Main issues, problems and difficulties of PWDs around the globe are always almost the same with a mild difference as per region, race, culture and society. However, every NGO regardless of her status, have a common goal and objective - the rehabilitation of PWDs.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), presently in Pakistan; 12.29% of the population is suffering from some sort of disability ending up a total number of 20 million. It’s an un-pleasant reality to note that major part of the effected population is residing in rural and remote areas. These areas are totally deprived from somehow basic facilities including, education, healthcare, vocational training and accessibility while some other fields are still neglected and untouched. It's further indicated; 90% "Persons with Disabilities" are unemployed in Pakistan.

In view of the above vital issues, a group of dedicated professionals is publishing a bi-lingual monthly magazine namely “Voice of Specials” (VOS) to boost the voice of persons with disabilities and less-privileged. Most persons in this group are "Persons with Disabilities" in their own capacity while all the correspondents and writers to this magazine are volunteers in all aspects and no salaries or out of pocket expenses are claimed. The main objective of VOS is to address the problems, troubles and difficulties confronted by the PWDs and boost their issues on a broad spectrum. We are trying to enrich our magazine with all sort of information by covering different fields including (alphabetically listed);

• Advocacy, Counseling & Governance

• Advertisement

• Computer literacy

• Equal rights

• Environment

• Facilitation

• Legislation

• Matrimonial

• Recreation

• Social problems

• Social and cultural activities

• Sports

• Success stories

• Research articles

• Vocational training, and all of the above;

• promote and protect the dignity and honour.

Keeping in view, VOS have done a marvelous work in all respective fields and exposed burning issues threaten the PWDs, to the relevant departments/authorities by making in person meetings with the responsible personnel and suggested approachable solutions to them.

To team up our efforts, all National and International organizations working for the same cause (like you) are invited to join hands with us to promote the rights and dignity of the persons with disabilities and find out the best possible ways for their rehabilitation.

In this respect, you are hereby requested to collaborate and affiliate with us and share information to publish in our magazine on reciprocal grounds so we may be able to better understand each other by contributing our observations, experiences, and rehab skills to eradicate our disabilities and consistent solutions to our common issues.

We also offer our full support and cooperation to enhance the rehab work. Furthermore, being a “Media Partner” of yours in Lahore on National level and in Pakistan on International level. We believe; by coordinating each other, we can do a lot more for the noble cause we are already serving in.
